Medical Needs

Medical Services
& Support in Highcliffe

Scheduled visits from health care professionals

Residents who come to live at Highcliffe are elderly people over the age of sixty five with a wide range of needs and conditions.

We do not cater for persons whose main care problem is dementia but can meet the needs of those with memory loss and/or slight confusion.

The home will endeavour to access all medical services required by residents through the NHS provision. Where a resident is assessed as requiring medical attention, the home will ensure that they are seen by a General Practitioner and where necessary admitted to hospital.
Doctor checking health

Doctors

If you are a local resident of Chorley, it is our policy to retain the local doctor you have always seen, if you wish to do so. If you have lived outside the area, or wish to change doctor, the home will endeavour to register you with a doctor through the General Practitioner Committee, Preston. Highcliffe has well established links with the GP's surgery in Whittle-le-woods.

Dentist

When coming to Highcliffe you will be asked which dentist you are presently registered with and whether you wish to continue using the same, or if you wish to change.. The home will endeavour to register you with another dentist should you so wish.

District Nursing Service

It has long been the practice at Highcliffe to enlist the help and support of the district nurses to deal with any nursing problems that may arise. The district nurses usually work in conjunction with the doctors.
