Other Care Home Services, based in Chorley

Highcliffe provides all bed linen, towels. Face cloths etc. although you may bring in your own if you wish to do so. In addition we also provide the following items free of charge:

 

  • Bath foam/oil

  • Shampoo

  • Soap

  • Steradent tablets

  • Toothpaste

  • Tissues

 

Bedding, towels and personal clothing will be laundered on the premises at no extra cost to you. Dry cleaning is not available and residents should make their own arrangements for this service. There are no facilities for residents to launder their own clothing.

 

The home requires all clothing to be clearly marked to avoid any confusion. This will make laundering and sorting of clothing easier as all laundering is done in house. Highcliffe cannot be held responsible for loss of any items that are unmarked.

A varied and nutritious meal is provided for all residents. A choice is offered at all meals and special diets are catered for. The advice of a dietician will be sought where necessary.

 

Residents’ meals and refreshments are served as follows:

 

Early morning cup of tea (optional) is served from 6.30am onwards.

 

Breakfast is served from 7.30am onwards. This is served in the dining room or in your own room if preferred.

 

Lunch is served at 12.30pm and is served in the dining room.

 

Tea is served from 4.30pm onwards. This is served in the dining room.

 

Supper is served from 8.30pm onwards. This will be brought to you.

 

 Residents are also served tea/coffee and biscuits during the day at the following times:

Any resident who wishes to have meals at any other time will be respected and causes no problem to us. Any one wishing to have hot/cold drinks throughout the day are able to do so on request throughout any 24 hours.

 

While every effort is made to ensure provision for each individual preference Highcliffe do not provide an “a la carte “ menu.

 

Residents may be allowed to have a kettle for tea making facilities in their own room. If this is preferred a risk assessment must be taken for the safety of everyone in the building.

If you wish to have your own newspaper, the home will arrange this for you, however this will incur additional charges.

 

Residents may have a private telephone line installed in their own room if preferred; mobile phones are permitted in the home. Highcliffe will not be responsible for the extra costs of private phones.

Highcliffe acknowledges each residents’ individual right to practice their chosen religion. Transport, if available, will be provided or arrangements may be made by the place of worship if residents wish to attend church.  

 

For residents of the Church of England faith, the Rector from St. Johns Church, Whittle-le-Woods visits the home once a month to give communion.

 

For residents of the Roman Catholic Church, the lay minister from St. Bedes Church, Clayton-le-Woods visits the home regularly to give communion. Also, the Methodist Church attends monthly (last Sunday in each month) for evening service with Hymn singing where the residents choose the Hymns.

For residents of other denominations, we will assist in any arrangements regarding religious needs. Visits to the home from all denominations are very much welcomed and in house services can be arranged.

 

A notice is displayed with the date and time of all meetings. Requests for items to be placed on the agenda are welcomed by every one.

 

Highcliffe feel that regular meetings are important for all the residents to have a say in what is going on. Any comments, complaints and/or comments are welcomed at these meetings but also at any other time. All comments, complaints and/or compliments are always acted upon and taken seriously.

Meetings are held every three months with management. Relatives meetings provide a good opportunity to meet with others and share experiences. Highcliffe feel that regular meetings are important for all the relatives to have a say in what is going on. Any comments, complaints and/or comments are welcomed at these meetings but also at any other time. All comments, complaints and/or compliments are always acted upon and taken seriously. There is also a monthly newsletter available.
